How can a connected object distort reality?
Plush Reverb is a wireless carpet that responds to its environment by creating soundscape recordings as people walk over it. These same recordings are held for random long intervals (long enough for someone to forget) and then played back at unexpected moments later on. Plush Reverb is a connected home technology that instead of creating convenience aims to distort one’s soundscape through a time delay. In addition to the working connected carpet, a fictional user scenario was filmed to explore situations that may arise from the carpet’s capabilities.
